Technology insights newsletter - November

We begin our first newsletter of the year with a theme of people and performance.

Last year, we doubled our staff numbers as part of a successful new strategy that has recently resulted in an award nomination. Some of our new hires have joined up with our more seasoned players to create several excellent new blogs, videos, and a university competition to identify fresh talent.

Thank you to everyone for your support last year. Here’s to what I hope will be another exceptional year.

Triad recognised for its business model innovation

The new year started with Triad being named as finalists for the UK Business & Innovation Awards 2022 in the business model innovation category. Our award entry explained how we transformed our operating model by doubling our permanent employees, whilst identifying three areas for improvement: building a better business, maximizing marketing, and energizing employees.

We were over the moon to be shortlisted for our first award this year.

Action for Children – Byte Night countdown

Our chosen charity is Action for Children. This wonderful charity protects and supports 370,000 children, young people, and their families each year, providing practical and emotional care and support. Once again this year, we will be supporting the charity by participating in their 'Byte Night - Boycott your Bed' event which is being held Friday 9th July.

The ‘Byte Night’ event is now the UK’s most prominent corporate sleepout event, with individuals and teams sleeping out in the most unusual places. A total of £185,000.00 was raised last year and we're hoping that this year's target will exceed £200,000.

Our future newsletters will provide more information once entries are open.

UX team members Jenny Lardh and Lucille Harvey have written the first of a series of UX blogs.

These blogs are in addition to articles written by Chris Blake on modernising SharePoint, David Eagle explaining the pitfalls of citizen development and how to avoid them and Alan Cook on a converging trilogy of digital technologies.

The Triad challenge

On the 10th and 11th February, we hosted a 48-hour challenge for technology students in their final year, at the University of Northampton. The exciting event was organised by Triad consultants and the University of Northampton Alumnae, Jenny Slade-Pedrick, and Rhianna Conway. The judging panel comprised of Triad management including our Chief Technology Officer Ant Cook. The challenge dealt with real-life problems and showcased the talents of some of the region’s brightest technology students.
