At the heart of every successful transformation, there is a Business Analyst (BA) acting as the organisation’s compass. And for me, that’s more than a role; it’s a natural alignment with how I think, work, and problem-solve.
There is a skill to listening between the lines, connecting the dots across teams, and transforming what can sometimes be scattered ideas into structured, actionable solutions. There is satisfaction in knowing that you can shape meaningful change.
Being a Business Analyst
This ability to translate what can sometimes be scattered, raw, or even conflicting ideas into structured, thoughtful, and actionable solutions truly drives progress. It’s more than just problem solving; it’s about creating clarity where there once was ambiguity and building alignment where there was once friction.
I enjoy being a Business Analyst. It is satisfying to know that in my role, I am helping to shape meaningful change through improving processes, fostering better collaboration, or delivering real impact to the organisation.
Life before Triad
Before joining Triad in April, I held a hybrid consulting role as a Business Analyst and ServiceNow Practice Lead. In that position, I helped establish and manage the ServiceNow practice, contributed to the pre-sales strategy, and supported the early business analysis phases for various public sector projects. It was a valuable learning experience that allowed me to broaden my skill set and develop new capabilities.
I have completed various projects as an Agile Business Analyst and Scrum Product Owner across several different industries and have retained a wealth of knowledge from the tail end of each project.
Continuous learning
I strongly believe in continuous learning and actively seek opportunities to grow while helping others do the same. This mindset led me to mentor and train around 10 junior colleagues at my previous organisation, preparing them to be project, application, and tech-ready.
At Triad, I look forward to learning from others and sharing my experiences. I’ve been particularly impressed by the emphasis on personal development and the support available to sharpen existing skills. In my first six weeks here, I’ve felt truly welcomed. Everyone I have worked with has been open and generous in sharing their knowledge and experience.
My advice to anyone starting as a BA
- Enjoy the privilege—As a Business Analyst, you are at the heart of the business. It is a privileged position. Enjoy it. Go in with an open mind and avoid the temptation to walk in with a specific focus or a premeditated opinion.
- Ask the “why’s” and the “what’s” and listen to the answers – In this role, storytelling is as important as finding solutions, so communication is important. When you want to understand a perspective, sit down and ask the whys and the what’s.
- Never stop learning – Learn from others and yourself too. Use all the experience that everyone has. Utilise it and grow as you go!
